Matthias Bock

Matthias is an experimentalist working on quantum simulation with two-dimensional trapped-ion crystals in the group of Christian Roos at the University of Innsbruck. He earned a PhD in the field of quantum networks and long-distance entanglement distribution from Saarland University under the supervision of Christoph Becher. His current interests are the exploration of novel spin models in two dimensions as well as quantum metrology using high-fidelity control techniques of trapped-ion crystals.
