Presenter: Ruben Verresen

Measurements and wavefunction collapse provide a fresh perspective on many-body entangled states and quantum phases of matter. At a conceptual level, it is an open question which many-body states of matter can(not) be efficiently created by measurement. In part of this talk, I will discuss recent developments in this direction. I will also discuss a collaboration with IBM studying the stability of such measurement-prepared states in the presence of imperfections. Lastly, I will touch on on-going work with Quantinuum on novel topological states in a trapped-ion processor.
